Dear Woodchurch resident

For the first time since 1989, Woodchurch Parish Council is embarking on a comprehensive survey of residents’ views. These questionnaires will give you an opportunity to tell us about matters of relevance to you and your family. Your responses will help to inform the Parish Council’s future plans and the things we can do, either alone or with partners, to improve your quality of life.

The surveys are not just about seeking the views of the current householders on current issues. The Council is equally interested to hear about the legacy it should leave for future generations. Consequently, I would encourage parents to involve their children, where possible, in both the general survey and also the separate Youth survey. We would encourage you to complete the surveys online if you can, however if you require additional paper copies of either questionnaire they can be downloaded using the links below or they can be obtained from The HUB. 

Four reasons why I urge you to complete the survey.

1. First and foremost, Parish Councils are elected to represent you. The Council is duty bound to listen and understand the views and the needs of all the different groups in the Woodchurch community who live within the parish boundary.
2. Armed with your feedback, the Council will be better placed to agree its service priorities and its longer term funding requirement.
3. Although the Parish Council is considered to be the lowest tier of local government, it is the one closest to the community and not only provides it with a democratic voice but also a structure for community action.
4. A Parish Council plan, informed by residents, has the potential to influence a wide range of other organisations that impact on our lives, initiate local causes, provide the foundation for key future planning initiatives and give greater credibility to funding bids.

I would now ask you to spend a little of your time considering the things you like, dislike or would like to change in Woodchurch by completing and submitting/returning the questionnaire(s) by Thursday 30th November.
